Mechanical Engineering Internship

Job Summary

Fabpro Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to work closely with its team to provide design and modeling support. An intern in this position will have the opportunity to work closely with the Owner, engineers, and production staff on specific product development projects in one or more of the following fields: Aerospace, Defense, Telecommunications, Audio and/or Construction. Interns can expect to gain valuable understanding of designing for manufacturability, cost optimization, and exacting performance requirements while gaining manufacturing insight and industry knowledge. The position is offered as an in-person internship at the facility in Halethorpe, MD with potential to work remotely.

Primary Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Use Solidworks to develop 3D models and completed detail and assembly drawings
  • Perform basic product design modifications
  • Review completed Job Travelers from the manufacturing floor and analyze for potential process improvements
  • Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and processes of new or existing product lines

Qualifications

The ideal candidate possesses the following qualifications:
  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines with thoroughness and accuracy
  • Demonstrated proficiency with SolidWorks
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Production Assistant

Job Summary

Fabpro Technologies is seeking a reliable Production Assistant to support its objectives. Reporting to the Production Manager, the responsibilities of the person in this position include managing and filing documents, keeping the production area clean and organized, working in production and assembly stations as assigned, and preparing components for shipment. Paid, on-the-job training is provided. Relevant experience is preferred but not required. Benefits include healthcare and paid time off for full-time employees.

To be a successful Production Assistant, you should be able to work with consistent speed and accuracy, possess basic math and reading skills, and have a team-player work ethic.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage Material Certifications and Compliance Documents
  • File production paperwork into folder system
  • Support production duties as assigned
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines
  • Identify and report issues or problems to supervisor

  • Works with a sense of urgency and efficiently; manages time effectively
  • Strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Possesses physical strength and stamina to stand, walk, and lift (up to 35lbs)
